This year sees Declan o Halloran captain the East, and Diarmuid O Malley captain the West. Well done to both of them on their selections, and we wish them the best of luck with their respective team selection/orderings in what promises to be an enthralling battle of wills.
One might argue that given their current locations on the globe and applying the east/west of the shannon rule, they captaincies should be reversed.
This year sees 20 people visiting Glasson for the competition. We welcome 2 new members Simon Cooney and Cormac Ryan. Welcome back to Mark Mc Mahon who was unavailable last year.
Lastly, congrats to Stu, Red Malley and Happy on the additions to their families, hope it doesn't/didn't impact too much o their training regimes for the upcoming EAST WEST CUP 2005.

I won't make it this year to the event (wedding to go to).
It's probably not a bad thing given my dismal contribution to the teams cause. 1/4 over the 2 years.
I expect this advantage to be seized upon by the EAST, here's wishing them every success in the competition.
